Daily life
Warsaw is a capital / metropolis; Budapest is a capital / metropolis. Warsaw is the practical choice for career-minded movers who want a big, safe, fast-growing capital at moderate prices. English is strong among younger workers and the city has the best direct flights to North America of our four countries. Expect harsh winters and a business-first rather than tourist-first feel. Budapest offers capital-city culture, thermal baths and a big nightlife scene at the lowest price level of our four countries. It suits budget-minded remote workers and anyone on the White Card. The trade-offs are Hungarian-language bureaucracy, patchy English outside the center and no US tax treaty.
